I had a real joy getting to know Jessica the other night during chat. Keaton is a little darling. I found out that he is a Winnie the Pooh lover so Keaton this is for you.

Forget Me Not
Our problems are many & varied, our struggles are always uphill...
I'm speaking for hundreds of children, so listen awhile if you will...
I want understanding- not pity, I wish you could treat me the same...
You wouldn't ignore the other children, at least you would ask them their name...
I know I can't answer to tell you, my face may seem empty & dead....
My body is twisted- but I AM alive, and there ARE thoughts in my head...
I will not be shut out from the world, I am a child & it is my right....
I'm not an object of pity- to be hidden away out of sight....
My parents see me through eyes of love, and not as others do....
They see the things I can achieve & I wish that you would too.......
As I ask you to Forget-Me-Not, I beg you to hear my plea...
If I could speak I would ask you....
to please look closer & see me.

Hi, my name is Jessica Soukup & I have a gorgeous little angel boy named Keaton who is 23 mos. with severe CP. He was diagnosed at 4 months with Microcephaly, hydrocephalus, & severe seizure disorder. He has had many hospital stays because he gets viral pneumonia so easily. He has had 3 grand mal seizures. He is a tense CP kid not floppy. He can hold his head up pretty well now, but still cannot move a whole lot.
He goes to the disabled public school for Early Intervention & also some private therapy. He really enjoys it because I think he has figured out that it makes him feel better. He cannot talk but vocalizes a lot..........we have wonderful conversations. But mostly I look at his eyes. They tell me
everything..........and you can tell he is very observant of everything going on. He just has no way to let me know he does.
Keaton has me, his dad Ted, & a great big brother, Nickolys who is 4. Plus
lots of grandparents & other family & friends that love him. He is truly an
angel.
